Superintelligence (SI) and your private AI workspace
Understand superintelligence (SI), personal AI agents and privacy. Explore what Quad's private AI workspace does today and how you stay in control.
What does superintelligence mean?
Superintelligence is often shortened to SI; artificial superintelligence is also called ASI. Definitions vary. Google DeepMind's Levels of AGI paper distinguishes broad general capability from skill at a single task. Its ASI category combines generality with performance beyond humans across a wide range of tasks. For everyday work, the useful starting point is an assistant that brings the right tools and context together. Quad combines available AI models with your files, projects and creation tools in a private workspace. You can compare responses, inspect generated work and decide what to keep or share.
Why personal agents make privacy important
In The Future is for Everyone, Meta describes a vision of personal superintelligence centered on individual goals, personal agents, privacy options and people directing the technology. For someone choosing an assistant today, useful questions are concrete. Which files does this task need? Which provider receives the request? Where is the conversation saved? Can a teammate read it? A personal workspace should make those boundaries understandable before you bring more of your work into it.
What you can do in Quad today
Use Quad to ask questions, compare model responses, research a topic, work with uploaded files and build documents, slides or spreadsheets. Projects keep related conversations and materials together. Creation tools help turn an idea into something you can edit, export or use in the next step of your work. Choose from the model catalog according to the task and your plan. An explanation, a draft and a coding task can call for different strengths. Check source material, calculations and generated files before relying on them. Model choice and tools change the workflow; they do not remove the need for judgment.
Provider retention and saved history are different
The model provider processes your prompt and relevant content to produce an answer. Private Lane chat routes use Zero Data Retention agreements. Standard Lane models require confirmation and follow the provider's standard retention terms. Image and video generation have their own provider terms. The retention guide explains the distinction. Separately, Quad stores saved conversations and files in your account so you can return to them. Provider zero retention does not mean your account history disappears. Conversations and files are encrypted in transit and at rest. Quad does not use them to train its own models. Read the privacy policy for the processing and storage commitments.
Keep access tied to the task
Start with the smallest set of materials that answers your question. Review which files you attach and which tools you enable. For a task that does not need saved history, Incognito leaves the conversation out of your history and does not read or update memory. Temporary chat data is deleted from Quad's servers within an hour. The AI memory privacy guide explains what history, context and saved preferences each mean. Check sharing before distributing a conversation, project or published output. Export useful work and delete saved content you no longer need. Use the private chat guide to understand memory and Incognito, and the desktop agent guide for tool workflows.
Private work, including in a team
Quad's team plans give members separate private workspaces and credit balances under shared billing. Admins manage seats, roles and usage totals without reading members' conversations or files. Content becomes accessible to others when you choose a sharing or publishing feature; a company account is not permission for everyone to read your work. Privacy is still a set of boundaries, not a promise of zero risk. Cloud model processing involves providers, and shared links extend access. Review the security page and your organization's requirements before uploading sensitive material. If information must never leave your device or network, use an appropriate local system instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is Quad Chat a superintelligence?
Quad does not claim to have demonstrated artificial superintelligence. It is a private workspace for available AI models and tools that help with research, writing, files and creation. Important results still need your review.
What is the difference between SI and ASI?
SI commonly abbreviates superintelligence, while ASI means artificial superintelligence. The terms concern capability beyond humans, but definitions vary. They are not a guarantee that a particular assistant is reliable at every task.
Does a private AI workspace mean the model cannot see my prompt?
No. The chosen provider must process your prompt and relevant content to answer. Private Lane chat uses Zero Data Retention agreements; Standard Lane and generation tools have different provider terms. Saved Quad account history is a separate storage choice.
Can my team admin read my conversations?
Quad team admins manage seats, roles and usage totals without reading members' conversations or files. Sharing or publishing content deliberately gives others access, so review those choices before distributing a link.
Can I use AI without saving a conversation to history?
Quad's Incognito chats stay out of saved history and do not read or update memory. Temporary chat data is deleted from Quad's servers within an hour. Incognito does not eliminate the model provider's need to process the request.
