A Claude alternative that still includes Claude, plus GPT-6 and Gemini
Hit Claude's usage limit again? Quad keeps Claude Opus, Sonnet and Haiku 5.5 and adds GPT-6, Gemini and 70+ models to switch to. Free to start.
Why people look for a Claude alternative
The reason we hear most often is the usage limit. Anthropic meters its consumer plans over rolling windows, so a long coding session or a big document review can stop you mid-task until the window resets. Upgrading to a higher Claude tier raises the ceiling but does not remove it. The other reasons are narrower. Some people want a second opinion from GPT or Gemini before they rely on an answer. Some want image or video generation in the same app. Some pay for Claude and ChatGPT side by side and would rather pay once. None of these is a reason to give up Claude. They are reasons to stop depending on one vendor's limit and one vendor's view of a problem.
Claude models you keep in Quad
Plans and context windows come from Quad's live catalog. Claude Haiku 5.5 (Role to try: Fast everyday Claude; Available on: Every plan, Free included; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Claude Sonnet 5.5 (Role to try: Daily writing and coding; Available on: Pro plan and up; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Claude Opus 5.5 (Role to try: The hardest reasoning and long tasks; Available on: Ultra plan and up; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Claude Haiku 5.5 is on the Free plan with no credit card. Sonnet 5.5 starts on Pro at $15 a month, and Opus 5.5 on Ultra at $40. The Opus vs Sonnet matchup shows the price and spec gap between them, which helps if you are unsure you need Opus at all.
What to switch to when Claude is not the right model
We have not run a benchmark. These are pairings worth testing on your own prompts. GPT-6.1 Sol (Role to try: A second opinion on code and plans; Available on: Pro plan and up; Context window: 1.05M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Gemini 3.1 Pro (Role to try: Synthesis across many long sources; Available on: Pro plan and up; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Gemini 3.8 Flash (Role to try: Quick drafts at lower credit cost; Available on: Pro plan and up; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). Kimi K3 (Role to try: Long-context work on Go and above; Available on: Go plan and up; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning, image input). DeepSeek V4 Pro (Role to try: Free reasoning, text only; Available on: Every plan, Free included; Context window: 1M; Catalog flags: tool calling, reasoning). Switching keeps the conversation. You can draft with Claude Sonnet 5.5, switch the same thread to GPT-6.1 Sol for a review, and come back. Or send one prompt to several models and read the answers next to each other before you choose.
How limits work in Quad instead
Free (Monthly price: $0; Per month, billed yearly: n/a; Credits per month: 100). Go (Monthly price: $8; Per month, billed yearly: Monthly only; Credits per month: 1,200). Pro (Monthly price: $15; Per month, billed yearly: $13; Credits per month: 2,000). Ultra (Monthly price: $40; Per month, billed yearly: $34; Credits per month: 5,000). Max (Monthly price: $200; Per month, billed yearly: $170; Credits per month: 25,000). Quad is not unlimited either. Every plan has a monthly credit budget shared across all models, and Opus spends far more per message than Haiku. The difference is what happens when one model gets expensive or busy. You can move the same conversation to a cheaper model to stretch what is left, buy a one-time credit pack or wait for the monthly reset, and no single lab's cap decides when you stop. Credits reset monthly and do not roll over.
What Claude.ai does that Quad does not
Anthropic's own app features stay with Anthropic. That includes Claude's Projects, its artifacts, Claude Code and its integrations list. Quad has its own projects, documents, slide decks and desktop agent, but they are separate products. New Claude releases can reach Claude.ai first. Quad adds a model once it is available through its model gateway. Some Claude plans include allowances that do not map to Quad credits, so a heavy Opus user may find a Claude Max plan better value. Quad's Free plan offers Claude Haiku 5.5 only. Sonnet needs Pro and Opus needs Ultra. If Claude is the only model you use and you rely on Claude Code every day, keeping your Claude subscription is reasonable. Quad fits better when you want Claude as one of several models, in one bill, with a fallback when one lab is busy or capped.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good alternative to Claude?
It depends on why you are leaving. For a second opinion, GPT-6.1 Sol and Gemini 3.1 Pro are the usual picks. If the problem is usage limits, an app that keeps Claude and adds other models, such as Quad, lets you switch instead of waiting.
Does Quad include Claude?
Yes. Quad includes Claude Haiku 5.5 on the Free plan, Claude Sonnet 5.5 from Pro and Claude Opus 5.5 from Ultra, all with a 1M token context window in Quad's catalog. It does not include a Claude.ai subscription or Anthropic's app features.
What do I do when I hit the Claude usage limit?
In Claude.ai you wait for the window to reset or upgrade. In Quad you can switch the same conversation to another model, such as GPT-6 or Gemini, and keep working, since every model draws from one monthly credit budget.
Is Quad cheaper than Claude Pro?
Quad Pro is $15 a month and includes Claude Sonnet 5.5 plus GPT-6 and Gemini models. Claude Pro was listed at $20 a month in Anthropic's plan guide when we last checked. Usage rules differ, so compare against Anthropic's current pricing.
Can I use Claude Opus 5.5 without a Claude Max plan?
Yes. Claude Opus 5.5 is available in Quad from the Ultra plan at $40 a month. Opus uses more credits per message than other models, so heavy daily use may suit Anthropic's own Max plans better.
